Bas Boorsma (56) is a leading urban innovation and digitalization specialist & executive with over 23 years of experience in the ‘smart city’ and urban innovation space. Bas is founder & CEO of Urban Innovators Global and chairman of Urban Futures Spa (Studio). He served as Chief Digital Officer to the City of Rotterdam ’21-’23. He proudly accepted to serve as Professor of Practice at the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University in 2019, a capacity in which he continues to be active to date. He also serves as Member of the Board, at the Smart City Association Italy (TSCAI). Bas served in various global and regional executive roles at Cisco over an eleven year period (2007-2018), always focused on urban innovation, smart city, the future of work as well as start-up engagement.
